I have mentioned in the proceeding weeks that the growing market of the healthcare system for the elderly population has been projected to accelerate over the next several years. These strengths will reassure clients and provide a competitive advantage in the industry. The ability to acquire and maintain an adequate supply of healthcare works with the necessary qualifications and compassion required for the job will prove to be one of the biggest challenges of the industry. Targeted marketing schemes will prove to be a beneficial quality of any elder care marketing team. Facilities located in areas in which income for their clients is substantial, can shine awareness on their services and the peace of mind their facility can bring to the families of seniors (Berman, n.d.). My childhood was an eventful time for me in the form of animated movies. From Disney to Pixar, I was hooked. One very underappreciated movie that I have always kept close to my heart; that movie is Anastasia, by Fox Entertainment. This was a semi-fictional movie that was based off the unsolved mystery of the unsolved mystery of the survival of the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, the last sovereign of Imperial Russia, Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov Nikolaevna. This was one of my first unsolved mysteries I was to encounter in life and the one that stood out the most. Was she really dead? Did she survive and pass on her legacy, leaving descendants behind? Grand Duchess Anastasia was born on June 18, 1901, to the house of Tsar Nicholas II, Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias. The fourth youngest out of five siblings, she was a mischievous and clever soul with a silver tongue, she always liked to play tricks on her tutors and even went to tripping servants. In February 1917, Nicholas II abdicated the throne and Anastasia and her family were placed under house arrest at the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo during the Russian Revolution. As the Bolsheviks approached, Alexander Kerensky of the Provisional Government had them moved toTobolsk, Siberia. After the Bolsheviks seized majority control of Russia, Anastasia and her family were moved to the Ipatiev House, or House of Special Purpose, at Yekaterinburg. In October of 1917, almost directly after the Bolshevik Revolution, the Russian Civil War broke out. Negotiations for the release of the Romanovs between their Bolshevik (commonly referred to as Reds) captors and their extended family, many of whom were prominent members of the Royal Houses of Europe, stalled. As the Whites (loyalists still faithful to the Tsar and the principles of autocracy) advanced toward Yekaterinburg the Reds were in a precarious situation. The Reds knew Yekaterinburg would fall to the better manned and equipped White Army. When the Whites reached Yekaterinburg, the Imperial Family had simply disappeared. The most widely accepted account was that the family had been murdered. A note found, known as the â€Å"Yurovsky note†, depicted and described what happened to the Russian Imperial family. â€Å"†¦ family was awakened and told to dress. They were told they were being moved to a new location to ensure their safety in anticipation of the violence that might ensue when the White Army reached Yekaterinburg †¦ the family and the small circle of servants who had remained with them were herded into a small room in the houses sub-basement and told to wait †¦After several minutes, the executioners entered the room†¦ Yurovsky quickly informed the Tsar and his family that they were to be executed. Anastasias supposed survival was one of the celebrated mysteries of the 20th century. Anna Anderson, the most notorious Anastasia impostor, first surfaced publicly between 1920 and 1922. She contended that she had feigned death amongst the bodies of her family members and servants, and was able to make her escape with the help of a compassionate guard who rescued her from amongst the corpses after noticing that she was still alive. This was later disproved in legal courts, although some relatives and supporters still believed her to be the real Grand Duchess Anastasia. Later in the 1900’s, DNA tests were conducted from Anderson’s body and it was no match to Anastasia’s. Another theory used is that her body was protected by jewels sewn onto her dress. When the Royal Family was in captivity, they were allowed to bring belongings along with them. Some of them were family jewels and precious stones. To make sure that they were hidden from their captors, they sewed them onto the inside of their clothes. Many rumors say those jewels save her life and even saved her sister, Tatiana’s, life. The evidence to support it was in the note. It said the room was so full of smoke from gunfire that nobody could see and the captors left for several minutes. However, this was disproved when Tatiana’s remains were found along with the rest of the royal family. Today, nobody really knows what happened to Anastasia. The movie most definitely proved in a fictional way how she could have survived, although all of the events don’t match up. In conclusion, I hope for the best and pray Anastasia made it out alive. Perhaps she did make it out and she had continued her life in secrecy. This will most likely forever be an unsolved mystery.

Television virtually emerged from radio, which set the foundation down for what is known today as the main source of mass media and communication. The reason being that almost all households in developed nations has a television. With such a norm it is often overlooked as to the controversy caused by the T.V which is almost literally the addition of pictures to radio. Many interesting things happened with the emergence of the television from the radio. The radio is one of the, if not most, important elements in the development of mass media. The emergence of radio took place in the early 1920's and for the first time it was possible to reach a large number of people at the same time. Radio at first was used in World War I where it served only to transmit important messages to and from certain, specific points. It was after the war when radio started to become commercialized. The commercialization of radio took different steps in the development process depending on the social and political circumstances in the particular country. These differences were in propaganda radio, elite radio, and democratic radio. Democratic Radio is more familiar to us and it was developed according to what the audiences wanted to hear. This type of radio is what we know radio as today; freedom to listen to what we want to listen to. This emphasis on the audience is what made the radio so popular and with this popularity came the opportunity of profiting from advertisements and promotions. More money being put into these programs brought about better quality. As more and more people listened to these quality programs the people taking part in them became popular with the audiences, which in some cases were spread nation wide. These people were becoming better known as celebrities. The sound, expression and personality of the voice were all a part of the popular notion of a celebrity. It wasn't hard to believe the excitement that the audiences felt when they found out that these celebrities were going on to T.V also. All of the excitement seemed a waste when pictures were actually added and viewed by the same audiences. With the introduction of television came the visual bias which basically meant that all the emphasis was on how the person behind the tube looked and it no longer mattered what this person was saying or the purpose for which they served. This phenomenon is better known as the 'predominance of the image' in which the content of the program we watch doesn't matter but what matters is purely the visual aspect or how the actor or actress looks. Everyone has heard of the famous saying; Don't judge a book b y its cover and this is clearly what has taken place with television because we continue to constantly judge shows on the way that the actors and actresses look. A popular show from the 90's was 'Baywatch' which consisted of some of the worst acting ever seen, yet the ratings were extremely high. Almost all males who watched this show didn't watch for the actresses' acting skills but rather for the enjoyment of watching attractive women run around in bathing suits. This type of visual bias has become so common and normal that we don't often stop and think about the actual content of television programming. We don't necessarily have to feel guilty about this but we should realize that the world is not as perfect as it's shown on TV.
